Texas Requires BIM for State ProjectsThe Texas Facilities Design and Construction division (FDC), which oversees design and construction of state facilities, has standardized Building Information Modeling (BIM) use for future projects "to promote workflow efficiency, streamline productivity and increase the return on investment," according to an FDC news release. FDC currently manages 125 projects with a total value of more than $500 million. Texas is the second state to require that all state design and construction projects include building information modeling (BIM). In July, Wisconsin became the first to mandate BIM for all projects with a budget of $5 million or more. Read the full Texas FDC news release. |
