OSHA Forms Safety Alliance with Mass. HVAC ContractorsAn alliance to enhance the safety and health of Massachusetts HVAC contractors has been formed by the U.S. Department of Labor Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and the Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors of Massachusetts (PHCC of MA). Under the alliance, OSHA's three Massachusetts-area offices will work with the contractors association to develop safety and health training and education program for contractor-members. Training will focus on reducing and preventing three main hazards: falls, electrical hazards, and being struck or caught in machinery. The groups will share information on best practices and effective approaches to workplace safety and health. Additionally, they will promote PHCC/MA member participation in OSHA's cooperative voluntary safety programs. OSHA currently has similar safety alliances with more than 468 organizations throughout the U.S. For more information about this and other OSHA alliances, contact: OSHA Boston Regional Office: 617 565-9860. |
