Product Design Engineer, Fall River, MA
Job Description
- Thermal and mechanical design of pressure vessels and heat exchangers.
- According to ASME code Section VIII, Division I TEMA and ANSI standards.
- Providing direction and guidance to product designers for all aspects of
product engineering and layouts.
- Working directly with third party authorized inspector to resolve any
questions relative to code compliance or product design disputes.
Requirements
- BS Mechanical Engineering
- 3-5 years design experience in heat exchangers and pressure vessels.
- HVAC industry experience preferred.
- Knowledge of AutoCad and SolidWorks is an asset.
- Excellent communication and people skills required.

Technical Services Field Application Engineer
Job Responsibilities
- Provides technical support on all HVAC and Building Controls products and systems to customers, representatives, and distributors as well as the Sales & Marketing Departments.
- Trains customers, representatives, distributors and employees in product selection,
sizing, equipment operation and maintenance responsibilities.
- Provides direction to Inside and Field Technical Services Technicians.
- Provides on-site technical support, hands-on trouble shooting and repair.
- Participates in setting and executing Continuous Improvement Initiatives for the Technical Services Department in conjunction with other business functions.
- Assists Sales & Marketing in development of product literature and instruction sheets.
- Travels to job sites to troubleshoot, repair, replace and modify products and equipment
as well as monitor Beta tests.
- Acts as liaison to Engineering Departments concerning field problems.
Job Requirements
- BS Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology or
Electrical/Electronics Engineering.
- Minimum of five years experience in servicing and providing technical support for
HVAC/Building Controls products and systems.
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
- Solid project management and organizational skills.
- Strong people and communication skills, including detailed report writing.
- Ability to maintain and improve customer relationships through consistent delivery of
excellent customer service.
- Ability to deliver technical information to technical and non-technical people.
- Up to 50% travel.

Residential Trainer, Eastern Region
Job Responsibilities
- Responsible for development, implementation and results of contractor and representative training programs for the Eastern Region of the U.S.
- Manages representatives training programs, setting training agendas, coordinating all activities with Taco's Regional Sales Managers, and coordinating rep participation in Taco's Train-the-Trainer
- Presents regional training programs for wholesalers and contractors
- Provides local and state trade show support, attending/providing training at Wholesaler and PHCC trade shows and supporting reps with technical/product support.
- Works with the Residential Sales & Marketing team and Regional Managers to improve Taco's market position in each territory
- Participates in taco social media efforts as well as active participation in Trade Organizations
Job Requirements
- BS in Sales & Marketing or Engineering with 7+ years of training and/or managerial contractor and rep experience in the HVAC industry.
- Must be an energetic self-starter with substantial practical knowledge of residential hydronics.
- Excellent oral presentation, written communication and project management skills.
- Must be highly organized with the ability to effectively set training agendas and manage a busy schedule, including travel arrangements.
- Proficiency in designing, developing and delivering training curriculum

Technical Services Engineer / Technician, Fall River, MA

Engineering Manager - AC Motor
Job Responsibilities
- Overall strategic direction of the Engineering functions for circulators using split capacitor/induction AC motor type.
- New Product Development, Sustaining Engineering, Agency Approvals, Compliance with Industry Standards and Codes, Product Testing, Cost Improvement as well as Engineering Systems and Tools.
- Providing technical support for Sales, Customer Service, Manufacturing, Quality Assurance as well as Purchasing.
- Assisting the Legal Department in managing Intellectual Property including new patent filing and legacy patent administration as well as recruiting, developing and coaching engineering and project management talent.
- Recruiting, retaining and developing engineering and project management talent.
Job Requirements
- BS Engineering ( Masters preferred)
- 10+ years of management experience in motor design and a solid knowledge of HVAC applications & systems, and mechanical engineering.
- A proven track record of establishing and achieving set objectives with specific metrics and timelines.
- Ability to build and inspire a team, developing bench strength at all levels.
- Demonstrated experience leading the development of strategic engineering plans, with a focus on new product development.
- Demonstrated use of project management and product development systems.
- Background in FMEA, DFM, PMP, and Cost Productivity. SolidWorks a plus

Embedded Software Engineer
Job Description
- Designs and develops embedded software including: performing requirement analysis, software architecture design and optimization, data structure design, high and low level software requirement development, control algorithm development, serial communication protocol development, programming in C and assembly language, hardware/software integration, memory usage analysis, stack usage analysis, timing analysis and throughput analysis.
- Performs coding, testing, debugging and modifying of complex embedded systems software to ensure project objectives and schedules are met.
- Provides architect streaming solutions for connected devices with focus on portability across hardware platforms, operating systems and middleware.
- Coordinates and participates in software design reviews and code reviews.
- Documents and archives software program releases in accordance with company software development process.
- Develops software requirements specifications and software functional specifications.
- Develops test protocols for design verification.
- Works closely with a team of other highly skilled engineering professionals to solve cross functional design issues and deliver top quality products to the end user.
- Provides technical expertise on embedded software to multiple project teams, sales and marketing, quality services and customers. Assists in the resolution of product based technical issues.
Skills Required
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering with a strong background in software development and/or software engineering.
- A minimum of five (5) years of embedded systems software development and/or software engineering.
- Experience with HVAC residential and commercial control systems, schemes and PID loop control.
- Strong C, C++, C#, and Neuron C programming skills and assembly languages with expertise in well structured and documented analysis, design and coding.
- Excellent organizational, communication and teamwork skills.
- Working knowledge of Version Control, Visual Source Safe, and bug tracking software.
- Experience with logic analyzers, scopes and multimeters.
- Experience with Windows CE and Platform Builder

R&D Motor Engineers, AC and DC
Job Responsibilities
- Design and develop new products, specifically new pumps based on classical hydraulic and fluid mechanics principles.
- Determines mechanical power requirements for pumps and selects/designs a proper source for this power
typically in the form of but not limited to permanent split capacitor electric motors.
- Performs theoretical and numerical analysis of structural, thermal, electric and hydraulic characteristics
of product
- Works with several departments, including R&D, Sales and Marketing, as well with Taco customers, design consultants, and suppliers.
Job Requirements
- BS Engineering.
- Solid knowledge of permanent magnetic motors.
- Electric motor design and development experience.
- 7 years with HVAC or related products, process, product design and analysis.
- Excellent communication skills
- Preferred background would include permanent magnetic motor design, wet rotor motor design, and an
understanding of electric motor speed control.
